Introspective view on 2009's upcoming music.

I'll update along the way this year, so keep checkin back.

Should be quite a year. There's alot of interesting material coming out in 2009, and a shitload of albums I probably havent heard of just yet, but im making sure to keep my ear to the rails this year.. especially coming off the uncontrollable tailspin that was hiphop 2008; because let's be honest now.. it wasnt a good year.. sure Ill Bill dropped an album and all, but that shit wasnt all that. Sure Deltron had one lined up in the launchtube.. and we all know how that went.

But fuck it, enough griping about wasted money/time the 08 edition.

09 got some good shit coming out.. a couple of the joints Im still waiting on is the new jak progresso, but imma refrain from geekboy status on that one and leave it at that. but while we're on the topic of johnny23, it'll be ill finally getting that Will taubin album out too, the single was dope, plus that joint with lodeck was a blazer, so that should be dope.. with a little luck they'll finally drop that fuckin Paramount album too, storage my ass, shit needs to come out the vault. then there's the question of whether or not Virtuoso'll actually suit up and go break some rewind buttons.. word is he will, but coming off 4+ years of waiting.. i gotta admit im pretty fuckin skeptical about that. then there's the new C-rayz walz, which is sure to be ill, been needing new material from him for a grip.

heard a couple whispers about triple darkness doing a followup to 2008's modern day classic "anathema" - hopefully that'll happen, but as of yet nothings set in stone. there's also talk of mista sinita's 90's mix finally coming out on no sleep recordings, which is a fuckin ill label which y'all need to check out if you havent already. definately some of the illest albums out right now has come outta that whole camp, and half that shit aint even from this decade (which is a pretty big plus to me). then there's the brainstorm troopah album by SERUM coming out sometime this year too, the joints he's got up right now are fuckin bangers, so go check that shit out. he's also working on a sideproject with manifesto which should be ill as well.

AND HERE'S SOMETHING ELSE I FUCKING HOPE FOR OUT THIS LABEL!!!!!! namely the remaining Godfather Don shit thats been unreleased so far, this was mentioned in a label interview a couple years back, whether or not Bobbito stepped up and helped out is unknown, but one can fuckin HOPE!!

then there's the new qunique, and I gotta say I aint got high hopes for this, Necro's whiling out with the guitar shit and whatnot, and quite frankly i dont think that shit got no place in hiphop.. wanna sample some spanish acoustic? all good. wanna ruin a rap album by making shit sound like Cannibal Corpse anno 96? fuck off. But enough of that.. RASCO is coming out with Global Threat too, and the sampler is ill. check his myspace for that!!

Snak the ripper should be dropping a new LP this year too, and so far the singles have been bordering on crazy, so that's worth checking up on too if you havent already.

All I really need for this year to be great horizon-wise have to be that elusive Killa Sin album that cats has been talking about since the sun rose over Egypt lol. had to say it.

but down to the line, the shit im waiting the most anxiously for gotta be the new decomposers debut album that word is out about, the free ep and their solo stuff is absolutely mindblowing, and I want that fuckin album in 09!!
